Engine size is irrelevant because they use electric motors. It is the power and weight is important. Weight will vary greatly depending on battery type. Some have used a lead-acid gel that is very heavy, but relatively cheap. Progress in the quality lithium-polymer ago, but by far the are best lithium-ion batteries. Lithium-ion batteries costs about 10 times more than lead acid, produce much more power and weigh much less, probably about 1/5th of the equivalent lead-acid and about 1/5th the size. Most of them had a hand gas operating handle and the engine is separated from the use of pedals, but the law should be changed to require the engine to operate only in association with the pedals. Then there is the equivalent of a moped, they must be legal traffic road, qualified and insured as a motorcycle (no tax because no pollution). Maximum speed 30 mph, typically range between 20 and 30 miles between charges. Some of them have energy recovery braking so that you can use the movement of the vehicle a bit to recharge the batteries when the or slowing down. After that, they come to be equivalent to most sizes of motorcycles. The cost is generally quite similar to the equivalent gasoline, but the question is always the limited scope of the motorcycle before the battery must be recharged. Speed may vary according to the specifications of the bike. The speed is generally limited to conserve battery power, the range is generally a little more about 50-60 miles, but there are huge variations. When you ride an electric motorbike, you will notice some differences from a regular bike. First the weight. It is obvious that depends on batteries it uses. Second, the noise. Some are rather calm, others hum like a hair dryer. Controls tend to be very similar to regular gasoline engine versions, if the petrol version by hand or foot controls, electric one will be similar. But there no speed. The initial acceleration is slower than the equivalent petrol, but where acceleration slows on petrol versions that you mount the wheels, electric bikes will accelerate the same at all speeds up to a maximum of once you go, they tend to be a lot nippier than their petrol equivalents. They do not like the hills. Something some will make the fuel will not reverse! Pretty hard to control because it is only intended to assist parking, but in fact it is the energy recovery circuit operation. Overall they are quite similar to regular motorcycles & scooters to watch, and the main difference is the noise, or lack of. Once the battery is flat they are in trouble because you have maybe 5-8 hours to recharge on the sector. Currently they are really only a toy town, but things are likely to grow rapidly in coming years.

I have an electric bike, an E-Zip. It's okay, and quite fast. The problem is perception. If you're going to pay the sum of over 600 that I see in the list price or more, I think you'll do better buying a motor scooter gasoline. Simply because a gallon of gasoline is expected to last about 100 miles or more. The distance announced a scooter is about 22 miles, but I have rarely more than five miles to a charge. In addition, a gas scooter is more powerful and you will not use up the battery if you use the lights or laying an additional charge.

electric bicycle motor kit?
So, since I bought this shit bike completely broken in such far the gears go, I was thinking it would be fun to put an electric motor engine on it. I can not see many though, and when I find a kit is like $ 2000. Are there conversion kits is like decent moped or something for a decent price?
Even if you find Kit electric motor at a lower price, it is unlikely to be cheap. But the problem with your bike will remain cheap. The bike will be equally difficult to push along the electric motor as it is for you. Adding weight to an electric motor kit already heavy bike will make a combination inefficient probably will not range much, and when the battery goes down you will always have to be able to pedal if the gear should be repaired. If you want an electric bike, buy one, trying to convert an old clunker is probably a waste of money.
